We have chosen the word symposia to represent the range of academic, professional, social and institutional interaction undertaken by LRG. We organize symposia under the following headings:

The work is coordinated by the following members of our board of directors in relationship to partners and colleagues. Click on each of their names for a bit of detail on their role and activities in service to the organization, the membership and our intra-disciplinary passion – which is, of course, landscape.

  • Walks

    Themed walks are very popular with our members. These are normally arranged as one-day events or combined with a lecture or seminar, and some in partnership with other organizations. In 2008, for example, we joined up with the Snowdonia Society to convene a seminar in Betws-y-Coed on ‘Eryri / Snowdonia as an inspiration to artists and writers.’

    We are interested in promoting similar events and would like to hear from other organizations in Great Britain and Ireland that might be interested in collaborating with us.

  • Academic research

    LRG awards annual prizes for the best undergraduate and post graduate dissertations or theses on landscape matters. Further information about the Landscape Awards available on the Student Awards page.
